Join the Solar Power Revolution.
Are you concerned about global warming? With severe weather events increasingly causing problems
across the world, many people feel that governments aren't doing enough. But governments aren't the
only ones that can make a difference. You, too, can do your bit - by joining the solar energy
revolution.
Any true revolution in the way people live has to start with individuals, and the solar energy
revolution is no exception. You probably already try to help the environment by recycling. You may
think carefully about the ethical status of the products you buy, and you may try to avoid leaving
electrical devices running at night.
All these things help, but why not go the whole way and start
making the switch to solar energy? With solar energy, you can give many of your daily activities a
carbon footprint of zero. For truly sustainable living, solar energy has to be the way
forward.
Whilst we may petition governments and corporations to make more
use of sustainable energy sources, the switch to solar energy can start at home. Unlike home
windmills, solar energy devices are quiet and unobtrusive and won't annoy the neighbours. They can
be installed bit by bit whenever you have some spare money, and they'll soon pay you back by
cutting your fuel bills.
Solar energy can be backed up by energy from the regular power
grid, so that you don't have to be able to afford enough at once to power everything in your house.
This also means that it can be a practical option even if you live somewhere which doesn't get a
lot of sun.
You won't need to worry about being left without power. What's
more, modern solar energydevices are much more efficient that their predecessors and can generate power
even at low light levels.
